From Nutrition Science to “Sinful Food”
How the Lee Family is Spicing Up the Market
Provo, Utah | January 10, 2026
If you stop by the Sinful Food, you will meet Chris and Cali Lee, a duo who have become a market mainstay over the last three years. While the business name suggests pure indulgence, the story behind it is rooted in health and a deep history of food science. Chris has spent 30 years in the nutritional industry, but since the summer of 2023, he and Cali have been dedicated to the farmers market circuit, turning a lifelong passion for cooking into a thriving local business.
Sinful Food Sells Seasonings, Oils, and Balsamics
The Evolution of Flavor
It all started with a single seasoning blend. Chris had been experimenting in the kitchen—a hobby he has loved since childhood—and created a mix originally intended for salmon. When someone tried it and told him, "You should sell this," the seed for Sinful Food was planted. That initial creation became their "Signature" blend, used on everything from meats and veggies to popcorn. However, the offerings have quickly evolved. Today, the booth features a wide variety of foods, including oils, balsamics, coffee, and chocolate. "Food is my passion," Chris says of the expansion.

Nutrition Meets Passion
Despite the decadent business name, Chris brings a scientific background to the table. He focuses on tying his three decades of nutritional knowledge to healthy eating. He uses the platform not just to sell products, but to share recipes and show how high-quality ingredients can elevate home cooking.

The Power of Collaboration
One of the Lees' favorite aspects of the market is collaborating with fellow vendors. Rather than operating in a silo, they actively seek out pairings, such as matching their truffle products with fries from Neat Frites or drizzling their balsamics over local ice creams and sorbets. "We would love to... connect different vendors together," Chris explains, noting his goal to help customers build full meals by shopping with local farmers and food artisans.

A Market with Energy
Now in their third year, Chris and Cali consider the Provo Market one of their favorites due to the phenomenal energy of the crowd. They value the consistency of being in the same spot so regulars can find them. Looking ahead, their goal is continued growth and more community engagement through giveaways and recipe promotions. For the Lees, the market isn't just a place to sell; it is a place where "people are excited" to be.
